Briefly summarize your project proposal. This project aims to document rite and rituals in Ondo and Edo state State, Nigeria as part of the Wiki Loves Africa 2026 campaign. The project will involve a focused phototour to capture high-quality images of traditional festivals, rite, costumes, crafts, and other ritual expressions that are currently underrepresented on Wikimedia Commons. All media produced will be uploaded under free licenses to support and improve Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. The project seeks to help close existing content gaps by providing accurate and verifiable visual documentation of Ondo and Edo State’s rite and rituals for public access and long-term preservation.

I Harriwillz - As an experienced documentary photographer, I take pride in my contribution of thousands of high-quality images to Wikimedia Commons. I am embarking on this tour independently. I will also be recruiting a new photographer.

This project addresses a significant gap in visual documentation of Ondo and Edo State’s Rites and Rituals. Many rite and rituals from the state are currently underrepresented or missing on Wikimedia Commons, limiting access to accurate, verifiable information for readers worldwide. By contributing freely licensed, high-quality media, this project will enhance Wikipedia’s coverage of Ondo State and Edo State’s rites and rituals, supporting long-term preservation and public access. With 4 years of experience in photography, I am well-prepared to deliver high-quality contributions that meet Wikimedia’s standards and help bridge content gaps for both local and global audiences.
