Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Expanding Core Knowledge: Vital Articles on Hausa Wikipedia

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Project summary

[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • This project aims to improve access to Wikimedia foundational and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria knowledge by expanding and enhancing the coverage of Vital Articles on Hausa Wikipedia. Vital Articles are essential topics that represent core human knowledge across diverse fields such as science, history, health, geography, and culture. Currently, many of these key topics are missing or underdeveloped on the Hausa Wikipedia, limiting readers' access to reliable and relevant information in their native language. Through this initiative, we will organize a series of targeted edit-a-thons, article translation sessions, and training workshops focused on identifying, creating, and improving high-priority vital articles. We will engage both new and experienced editors, especially from Hausa-speaking communities. and equip them with the skills and tools needed to contribute high-quality content.
