- The main purpose of the program is to provide references to some of the Hausa Wikipedia articles and to run the unprecedented #1lib1ref program in Kano. I will also teach editors how to place references on Wikipedia.
As a result of some Wikimedia projects I have led in Kano, many Wikimedia editors have been recruited from Kano State, and so far many Wikipedia editors in Kano State are consulting me on how to teach them some things on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Projects. I will use this project in order to gathered them together and educate them more about Wikipedia.

- Is a two days of Workshop and Edit-a-thon
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You are required to provide links to on-wiki pages to inform these communities about your proposed work. Examples of places where this can be done include community discussion pages, affiliate discussion pages, or relevant project talk pages.
You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- I will let them know via our WhatsApp Group for Kano Wikimedians, and I will also let them know via our Hausa Community WhatsApp and Telegram Groups
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- Mostly they will know online via WhatsApp Groups and Phone Call
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals.

5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- Yes they have smartphones some also have Laptops
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- I will continue engaging them via our WhatsApp Group
7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- Being a well-known Wikimedia person I get a lot of calls from young people who are interested in contributing to Wikimedia Projects, I organized this project because I brought these young people together inorder to teach them how Wikimedia is. This program is an opportunity to further develop Wikimedia in Kano State, the most populous state in Northern Nigeria and the second in Nigeria. The project is also the first of its kind in Kano State.

- I Gwanki will lead the event with the help of Bash, Yusuf and Hamza, we are all experience Wikimedians
