Project summary

[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

This project aims to grow Hausa Wikiquote in the Wikimedia Incubator by training participants especially women to create and improve quotation pages about notable women. The project will start with a training session on how to contribute to Wikiquote in the Incubator, including adding quotations, citing reliable sources, and formatting pages. After the training, participants will take part in a three-week writing contest focused on creating and improving pages featuring quotations from notable women in Nigeria, Africa, and around the world. The project will help increase women’s participation in Wikimedia projects while expanding Hausa-language quotation content.

Endorsements

[edit]

Community members are encouraged to endorse your project request here!

  • I strongly endorse the project Amplifying Women’s Voices on Hausa Wikiquote. This initiative is very important for improving the representation of women and their contributions on the Hausa Wikiquote. Many notable women—especially from Northern Nigeria and other Hausa-speaking communities—are still underrepresented in Wikimedia projects, and this project will help address that gap.
