  • This project aims to increase awareness and participation in Wikipedia editing among students and staff at Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi. By conducting hands-on training sessions, we will equip participants with the skills needed to contribute high-quality content, particularly in underrepresented topics. The initiative will focus on creating and improving Wikipedia articles, enhancing digital literacy, and fostering a sustained editing community within the institution. The project aligns with Wikimedia's goal of expanding free knowledge and bridging content gaps in Nigerian academia

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

The project will consist of a two-day physical editathon followed by a one-day online training session. This structure provides hands-on experience and community interaction during the in-person sessions, complemented by additional online support to reinforce skills and address any remaining questions, ensuring participants are well-prepared for ongoing contributions.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I've informed about the promoting wikipedia Awareness; follow-UP at abubakar Tataris ALI polyApptechnic by sharing updates in previous whatsApp group

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will let them know via our previous project WhatsApp group

Yes, the participants have smartphones and some have laptops

I User:Hauwa'u lawal ardo I have leas the previous event at the same place and I will also lead it in this project. User:Smshika is a experience Wikimedian and mentor, he will help me to facilitate the project.
