Celebrating 25 Years of Wikipedia and Open Knowledge is a community-focused initiative marking Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary by highlighting its impact on free and open access to knowledge. The project will bring together experienced editors, new contributors, and the general public through awareness sessions, edit-a-thons, and discussions to promote Wikimedia projects. It aims to strengthen local participation, inspire new editors, and reinforce the values of collaboration, neutrality, and free knowledge for all.

It's one day for birthday celebration.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have let them know through our WhatsApp group.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings. I will let them know by announcing in the WhatsApp group and by phone call of our Wikimedian contributors.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)

This project goes beyond celebration by strengthening community engagement, inspiring new contributors, and promoting long-term participation in Wikimedia projects while highlighting the value of free and open knowledge.

The WMF dashboard tool will be used track each metrics.

I Ibrahim Sani Mustapha will lead the event as a organizer, I will overall the logistics, refreshments, and the participants engagement. And Lawan Bala will serve as a facilitator, he will brainstorm the participants train them and encourage them in the contributions on order to be more confidence by highlighting them our success on Hausa Wikipedia.
