The Kanam Wikipedia Learning And Editing Workshop is a capacity-building program designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of Wikipedia and strengthen digital knowledge within Kanam Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State. The workshop aims to raise awareness about open knowledge, equip attendees with practical editing skills, and encourage contributions that highlight the rich culture, history, and notable personalities of Kanam LGA. Participants will engage in hands-on training on how to create and improve Wikipedia articles, follow community guidelines, add reliable references, and contribute responsibly to global knowledge project. The workshop also seeks to inspire new editors from Kanam to help bridge existing content gaps on Wikipedia, especially topics related to their local communities.

It's a one day of awareness trip and two days of Physical training
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
Mainly via Hausa Wikipedia Discussion page and Hausa Wikimedia Community WhatsApp Group
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
I will invite the participants during trip and some other participants will know via WhatsApp groups and phone calls
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)

Yes they will use devices mostly Phone and Laptops

I will create WhatsApp group for Kanam Wikimedians

By the end of the program, participants will have gained essential digital skills, developed confidence in editing, and joined a growing network committed to expanding open and reliable knowledge from Kanam to the world.
