- This project is aimed at creating awareness for the Stem instructors of Women Technology Empowerment Center Kwara. The project will help to train stem instructors on how to use Wikipedia, Wikidata to access information and not just consumers of information but also creators of information from a neutral point of view.

Project Goal

- The project aims to recruit new editors, who are mostly stem instructors of the W.TEC Kwara State, into the Wikimedia foundation.
- The project also aims to add and improve contents in the tech industry , as a lot of these organizations either do not exist or need further improvement on Wikipedia and Wikidata, with a brief research carried out using the Wikidata query search to for the number of Tech companies and CEOs available on Wikidata only a few results came back with the link here https://w.wiki/Av9A for the result.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- The project aims to have 1 physical training session and an edit-a-thon contest that will run for two weeks with prizes to encourage the participants to put in extra effort in creating and improving good contents on Wikipedia and Wikidata.
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- I have sent a notification to the Kwara state coordinator to let her know about the awareness of the stem instructors in Kwara.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- Participants will be informed about the edit-a-thon during the Physical training session and also information about the edit-a-thon will also be communicated on the WhatsApp group chat of the community.

- Linason Blessing (Project Lead):She led the Wikipedia awareness for Library and Information Science Students in Nigeria and she is a certified Librarian of the Librarians' Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN) she was a facilitator for the first Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom in Nigeria, she also led Wiki Loves Libraries 2.0 Nigeria. She is a Wikibrarian and she has also participated in various Wikimedia projects such as WikiLoveAfrica, WPWP, Wikidata (Media personalities in Nigeria), Winner of WPWP Kwara and Wikidata Media personality in Nigeria, WikiGLAM Awareness for Libraries and Librarians in Kwara, Wikidata for Libraries and Librarians in Nigeria, 1lib1ref 2022 Kwara, etc. She is the Co-Founder of the Kwara State University Fan Club.
- Mijesty ( Communication Expert): She is an active member of the Wikipedia user group in Nigeria, holding a position as one of the executives in the University of Ilorin fan club. With her extensive knowledge and experience, she has successfully coordinated various Wikipedia projects, including but not limited to initiatives like "Wikipedia awareness in Offa" Inspire Inclusion-Africa Wiki Women co-facilitated "Wiki Loves Libraries." Among others, Her commitment to fostering engagement and knowledge dissemination through these projects reflects her passion for leveraging Wikipedia as a powerful educational and informational resource.

- The Participants have internet connected devices like Mobile Phones, Tablet and Laptops.
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- I will keep participants engaged through the New Whatsapp group that I will be creating for the purpose of this campaign.
7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- This project is targeted at Creating awareness for the Stem instructors of W.TEC improving the visibility of Wikipedia to the Stem Instructors to go ahead and pass it down to the students in the Secondary school, secondary schools in Nigeria to help the educational system in Kwara state remain prolonged and have global recognition in the educational global system.
