  • The Wikipedia follow-up Awareness and Training at Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri focuses on improving digital literacy and familiarity with Wikimedia initiatives among students. This program conducts workshops to teach participants how to create and edit Wikipedia entries, thereby promoting knowledge sharing and enhancing access to information. It is part of a larger mission by the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria to involve communities in educational outreach and encourage the use of open-source platforms for learning and collaboration.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I will continue let my community knows about the proposal via our social media handles and Hausa Wikipedia and Hausa Wikimedians User Group Discussion pages.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

To engage participants after the event, I’ll host follow-up sessions for additional support, maintain a community support group on WhatsApp, and recognize active contributors to keep them motivated.

Updating them on the current project, ongoing virtual training, and consistent follow-up.

The follow-up Awareness and Training initiative at Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri aims to inspire students to create and enhance Wikipedia articles. This program focuses on developing their skills in editing and contributing to Wikipedia, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing within the academic community.

I User: Mlamido will lead the events as an organizer with help of User: Mr. Snatch and User: Muhammad sa'idu A and as a facilitators.
