Project summary

[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

  • Promoting Wikipedia in Northwest University Kano

This project aims to promote Wikipedia awareness and build foundational editing skills among students, staff, and digital volunteers at Northwest University Kano. Through a series of engaging workshops and hands-on training sessions, participants will be introduced to the core principles of Wikipedia, including how to create and improve articles, follow community guidelines, verify information with reliable sources, and contribute responsibly. The program will strengthen digital literacy on campus, encourage research-based contributions, and empower participants to document notable topics related to the university, Kano State, and Northern Nigeria. By the end of the project, the Northwest University community will be better equipped to participate actively in the global knowledge ecosystem and increase the visibility of local content on Wikipedia.
