Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also referred to as the Global Goals, are a collective call to action aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring peace and prosperity for everyone.
Comprising 17 goals, the SDGs build on the foundation of the Millennium Development Goals while introducing new areas of focus such as climate action, reducing inequality, fostering innovation, promoting sustainable consumption, and advancing peace and justice. Each goal is interconnected, meaning progress in one area often supports success in others.
SDGs Nigeria seeks to close the gap in SDG-related knowledge on Wikipedia and wikidata, with particular attention to Nigerian contexts. The project will bring together young, motivated individuals who are committed to contributing to Nigeria’s progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

It promotes continuous learning and inclusivity, aligning with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
Edit-a-thon: An editing contest will run for three weeks, allowing participants to showcase what they’ve learned on Wikipedia and Wikidata. Prizes will be awarded to top contributors to encourage active participation and sustained engagement with the SDGs.
