Project summary

[edit]

Briefly summarize your project proposal.

The Wikimedia Awareness in Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe project aims to introduce students and staff to the Wikimedia movement, with a particular focus on the Hausa Wikipedia. Despite being one of the major federal institutions in Gombe State, awareness and participation in Wikimedia projects remain very low due to limited training opportunities.

The project will deliver awareness sessions and hands-on training to equip participants with the skills to contribute to the Hausa Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. By promoting open knowledge, digital literacy, and local language content creation, the initiative seeks to build a sustainable community of new Wikimedia contributors within the institution.
