Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Sirjat/Connecting Wikipedia to Wikidata for Enhancing Hausa Wikipedia through Structured Data
Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
- This project aims to enhance the integration between Hausa Wikipedia and Wikidata by training editors on how to link Wikipedia articles with corresponding Wikidata items. Many articles on Hausa Wikipedia are currently not connected to Wikidata see this page, which limits their accessibility and the ability to share structured data across platforms. This project will bridge that gap by teaching editors in Hadejia, Jigawa State, how to create and link Wikidata items with Wikipedia articles.
In addition to in-person training, the project will expand by organizing online sessions for other Hausa Wikipedia editor. This online workshop will ensure that more contributors understand how to connect Wikipedia pages to Wikidata, making the project impact more widespread. The project aims to improve data quality and accessibility for Hausa Wikipedia articles while empowering local and remote editors with the skills to contribute effectively to both platforms.
