Project Plan
[edit]Activities
[edit]Tell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?
- We are organizing a one-day physical training, followed by a one-day online training, and then hosting a writing contest for the trained participants to contribute articles to Wikipedia.
2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.
- We will inform the relevant Wikimedia communities, especially the Hausa Wikimedia community, through our local WhatsApp group and community networks
3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.
- We will inform participants through targeted outreach in tertiary institutions and women-focused groups in Hadejia. We will share flyers, posters, and digital invitations both physically and online. Communication will be done through WhatsApp groups, phone calls, and in-person announcements during school and community visits. After registration, we will use a dedicated WhatsApp group and emails to provide updates, share resources, and guide them throughout the training and writing contest.
4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)
For example: User:Kaizenify
5. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?
- Most participants may not have prior Wikipedia editing skills, and some may have limited access to laptops or stable internet. To support them, we will provide hands-on training during the physical and online sessions, including step-by-step guidance on how to edit and contribute quality content. We will also provide a few shared laptops at the venue and ensure internet access during the training. For follow-up, we’ll offer mentorship through WhatsApp and one-on-one support to help them improve their skills and contributions.
6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?
- I will add them to our previous event dashboard
7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

Contest & prize-giving events
[edit]How would decide the winners of your contest (If you are going to have a contest, what is your scoring criteria)
