[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal. Wikipedia at 25 in Zaria is a community outreach project that combines a birthday celebration, Wikipedia awareness, and practical editing activities. The event will mark Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary in Zaria City with a brief celebration, followed by an introduction to the Wikimedia movement and how Wikipedia works. Participants will then take part in an editing workshop and edit-a-thon focused on improving articles related to Zaria, Kaduna State, and Northern Nigeria. The project aims to increase public understanding of Wikipedia, recruit new editors, and strengthen the local Wikimedia community while promoting free knowledge.

- I will share the proposal with members of the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria community and informed editors within the Northern Nigeria network. I will also promote the event through community WhatsApp groups, Facebook pages, and other social media channels to reach interested participants in Zaria and Kaduna State.

- Some participants may be new to editing. We will support them with a basic training session, step-by-step guidance, and help from experienced editors so they can contribute good quality content.

- I will keep engaging participants through follow-up messages, WhatsApp groups, and online support. I will encourage them to keep editing, share useful resources, and invite them to future Wikimedia activities.
