Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Translating descriptions and Giving visibility to Nigeria communities on Wikidata
Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
- According to stats, Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups and 371 tribes. In addition Nigeria has many communities including towns and cities. Unfortunately, around 5% to 15% of the communities are represented on Wikipedia and Wikidata which leads to tribal & language gap. In a bid to bridge the gaps, this project aim to increase the visibility of Nigeria communities by creating new items on Wikidata and translating descriptions. This project aligns with the Wikimedia Movement Strategy goal of bridging language gap.
