• The "Wikidata for Education: Training Minna Students on Linked Data" project aims to educate students in Minna on using and contributing to Wikidata, with a focus on linked data principles. This training will enhance their digital literacy, introduce them to the concept of connected data, and encourage them to contribute local knowledge to a global platform. By participating, students will gain valuable skills in data management and increase awareness of open knowledge resources.

1. Are you doing one editathon or training or a series of editathons or trainings?

For the "Wikidata for Education: Training Minna Students on Linked Data" project, I plan to conduct the training and editathon sessions over two days. The first day will focus on introducing students to Wikidata and linked data concepts, while the second day will be dedicated to hands-on editathon activities, allowing students to apply what they’ve learned by contributing directly to Wikidata.

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I’ve informed relevant Wikimedia communities about the "Wikidata for Education: Training Minna Students on Linked Data" proposal by sharing updates in the Wikimedia Nigeria User Group and Hausa Wikimedia User Group. Additionally, I’m using Facebook to reach a broader audience and encourage engagement with the project.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

I will let them know via our previous project WhatsApp group

This project focuses on introducing students in Minna to Wikidata, with an emphasis on its role in linked data and structured knowledge. By training them, we aim to enhance their understanding of open data concepts and equip them with practical skills to contribute to Wikidata. This will not only improve the visibility of educational content but also encourage the adoption of Wikimedia projects in academic settings. The project also seeks to create awareness about the importance of linked data in today's digital ecosystem, bridging the gap between students and open knowledge platforms.

1. Events' hall = N40,000×2=80,000.

1. Events' banner = N15,000.
2. Projector rental:N10,000
3. Tags and flyers: N15,0000.
4. Branded Tshirts for the organizer and Facilitator: N6,000×2=12,000
5. Food and refreshments to the participants and Facilitators = N2,000×22=N44,000 × 2 (for two days) = N88,000.
6. Contingency = 20,000.

Total amount = 240,000.
