Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/WUGN Taraba Network/Official Launch of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria-Taraba Network
Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
This project is designed to formally launch the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria-Taraba Network in Jalingo, Taraba State. The launch will bring together existing Wikimedia contributors, new volunteers, students, and educators to introduce the network’s vision, structure, and opportunities for participation.
To ensure the launch produces tangible and measurable outcomes, a Wikipedia training session will be conducted as a supporting activity. The training will enable participants to make meaningful contributions to Wikipedia while learning collaborative editing practices and Wikimedia community standards. The primary focus of the project remains community activation, onboarding, and visibility of the newly approved WUGN Taraba Network.
The project will strengthen local coordination among Wikimedia contributors in Taraba State and provide a foundation for sustained community activities. By combining the launch with a practical editing activity, the project ensures that the network begins its operations with active participation rather than symbolic presence.
