  • The "Wiki Loves Monuments" campaign is a Wikimedia initiative focused on highlighting and documenting cultural heritage monuments in Uyo through photography.This campaign includes:

1. Photography Contest: Participants are invited to capture and submit photos of cultural heritage monuments in Akwa Ibom State.

2. Wikimedia Commons Contributions: All photos are uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, making them freely available for use across Wikimedia projects.

3. Judging and Prizes: A panel of judges selects the best photos, with prizes awarded to the top entries.

4. Community Involvement: The campaign encourages community participation in the documentation and preservation of cultural heritage monuments.

Through this campaign, the documentation of cultural heritage monuments is enhanced, enriching Wikimedia's media resources.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

  • "Wiki Loves Monuments" documents cultural heritage, fosters community engagement, and enriches Wikimedia's media repository. In Akwa Ibom State, this project will highlight the region's historical landmarks, engage locals in preserving cultural sites, promote cultural tourism, and enhance global visibility, thereby benefiting the local economy and instilling community pride.
