Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Wiki Loves Monuments 2024 campaign in Gombe Network
Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
Building on the remarkable achievements of the 2023 Wiki Loves Monuments campaign in Gombe, where we saw outstanding contributions from local participants—culminating in a 4th place national ranking and an international jury nomination—this year’s campaign aims to set even higher standards. The success of last year’s campaign demonstrated the power of community involvement and the impact of quality documentation of Gombe’s cultural heritage.
For the 2024 campaign, our focus is on establishing even more robust partnerships with photographers' groups and actively engaging with individuals passionate about preserving Gombe’s rich history. By collaborating with these partners, we aim to surpass the achievements of the previous year, contributing an even greater number of high-quality images to Wikimedia Commons. These efforts will not only preserve Gombe’s heritage but also ensure it is prominently represented and accessible on Wikimedia projects worldwide.
