  • This training workshop is to equip participants in Daura with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively use and contribute to Wikidata, enhancing their capacity to manage and share knowledge within their communities.

Background: Wikidata is a free, collaborative knowledge base that provides structured data to support Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. As a valuable resource, it offers opportunities for participants to engage with digital data management, increase their digital literacy, and promote the sharing of local knowledge

The training will be conducted over One days, consisting of interactive sessions, practical exercises, and group discussions

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

I have let them know by reaching out to them through social media channels, like WhatsApp

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

Yes they have smartphones some also have Laptop

We already have a WhatsApp group of Daura Community, I will continue engaging them there

Reapply, I apply this project at 3 times And The Wikidata training workshop at Daura aims to empower participants with the skills to harness the power of collaborative knowledge sharing. By fostering digital literacy and local engagement, this initiative will contribute to the preservation and promotion of Daura’s cultural heritage within a global context.

What resources do you need? For your funding request, list bullet points for each expense as a unit amount and include a total amount.

  1. Events hall = N40,000
  1. Events' banner = N20,000.
  2. Tags and flyers: N20,0000.
  3. Branded Tshirts for organizers N6,000×2=12,000
  4. Food and refreshments to the participants and Facilitators = N2,000×22=N44,000
  5. Transport and accommodation for organizers N30,000
  6. Contingency = 14,000.

Total amount = 180,000.
