This training/workshop is aim to equip participants with practical skills in contributing to open structured data, expanding digital visibility, information, documentation, and knowledge sharing; especially the students and academic staff in the university with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively use and contribute to Wikidata, enhancing their capacity to manage and share knowledge within the institution.

Background: Wikidata is a free, collaborative knowledge base that provides structured data to support Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. As a valuable resource, this workshop/training will offers opportunities for participants to engage with digital data management, increase their digital literacy, and promote knowledge sharing

The training will be conducted over One days, consisting of interactive sessions, practical exercises, and group discussions

2. How have you let relevant Wikimedia communities know about this proposal? You may also provide information about external social media channels you may be using.

3. How will you let participants know about the edit-a-thon? In what ways will you be communicating with them?
For example, these can include on-wiki spaces, social media channels, mailing lists, messaging apps, or physical/online gatherings.

We would do our publicity through the use of our social media channels.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)

This project will serve as a means to engage more participants and enhance proficiency in creating, editing and managing structured data.

There will be event dashboard to track every participant's contributions.

User: Ennydavids is a Political Analyst and also an experienced Wikimedian and He is the project lead.


User: Akwugo is the current Wikimedia Anambra Network President and she's an experienced Wikimedian and will co-facilitate on creating basic wikidata items.

Banner/Communication: 30,000

projector hire: 30,000

Contingency:40,000

Data to support the participants at N1,500: N30,000

Transport support for the participants: 40,000
