• Imeko/Afon Local Government is a local government where few people know the importance of digital literacy, critical thinking, and media literacy in this dispensation. With the creation of a Wikimedia Awareness in the local government, which might eventually spread to the state as a whole, the people will have access to a community that promotes free knowledge and encourage participation of different people. With this, increased accessibility, advanced education and digital literacy will skyrocket, and this is something I've always dreamt of about my society. From Afon, other communities will emanate, thereby promoting Wikimedia's mission and values. During the wikipedia awareness, the newly editors will be teach on how to edit.

Through this community creation, I believe Ogun state at large will understand that knowledge is freely available to everyone, regardless of their geographical location, language, or socioeconomic background through Wikimedia. In essence, my aim for creating this Awareness is to build a diverse and strong community of people who are wealth of digital knowledge.

The participants will be reached through WhatsApp group, and Facebook platforms in Imeko/Afon for a wider audience.

4. Do you have experienced Wikimedia editors to lead/assist the event? Please provide links to the usernames of these individuals. (NOTE: all experienced Wikimedia editors MUST endorse and sign your proposal as proof of availability)

All participants will be trained prior to the event. They will be trained in how to contribute to Wikipedia. Also, they will be provided with adequate data reimbursement so as to contribute to the online training.

6. How will you engage participants after the event(s)?

A WhatsApp group will be created so participants can easily connect with and ask one another questions, especially when they are experiencing any problem.

7. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?

This Awareness will build a diverse and strong community of people who will wealth of digital knowledge to Imeko/Afon Local government, the society and the Wikimedia body at large.

I User:kingsman0000 will lead the physical events and online, while User:Inyor4mr will help me to organise the online training. Also User:Torian33 will also be assisting in the online event for the awareness training.
