Grants:Wikimedia UG Nigeria Grants/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Community Support Fund/Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Anambra Network Quarterly Administrative Fund
Project summary
[edit]Briefly summarize your project proposal.
The WUGN Anambra Network community faces challenges of gaps in advanced skills such as project documentation, facilitation, tool usage, and leadership within the Wikimedia space, Limited administrative resources for coordination and communication despite the commitment of volunteers within the Anambra Network,. The monthly community support fund has helped but has not been enough to run capacity building workshops especially on the fact that trainers put more focus on the metrics for reporting rather than the benefit and impact on community members. The Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Anambra Network seeks support to strengthen the sustainability, coordination, and capacity of its Wikimedia community. This grant will support administrative needs and the delivery of 4 months of structured online training aimed at community development, editor retention, leadership grooming, skill enhancement and edit ladder boosting. Through this grant, the Network with full committee/ executive participation, will organize monthly online training sessions over a four-month period, alongside administrative activities such as coordination meetings, documentation, communication, and reporting. The project will ensure that community members are equipped with relevant Wikimedia skills while also strengthening long-term impact. We noticed burnout and decline from the Community members especially when there are no continious meet-up in a month. The online training session will be one online training session per month (4 sessions total), delivered via Zoom or Google Meet.
