Report accepted[edit]

Dear Dispenser and Arthur.frick,

Thank you for submitting this midpoint report. I'm accepting it now with the following feedback:

  • The spare format of this report is perfect for a Midpoint. I like to let people know at this point, though, that we request that your Final Report be more robust, walking a non-initiated audience through your report in a way that would clearly convey the meaning and impact of your work, even if they had no technical knowledge about either the software side or the needs of the community this tool aims to meet.
    • For example, it's helpful to make sure your narrative orients non-technical readers around any specialized vocabulary, such as "dump parser" and "thumbnail fetcher."
  • Glad to hear that Art's familiarity with the Wikipedian landscape is increasing. Art, you bring so many skills that are deeply valuable for our projects, and so your efforts to become fluent in Wikipedian norms is a gift, since it will increase your effectiveness in raising awareness among our volunteers about how we can do better at supporting visually impaired users. Thanks for your efforts!
  • Thank you for the learning pattern on expert involvement and organizing an event series.

Thank you for you work on this project to date. We really appreciate your efforts to overcome technical barriers that might prevent our projects from being more accessible to visually impaired users.

Our grants administrator will be in touch about funds disbursement.
