Thank you for submitting this midpoint report. I am accepting it now, with the following comments:
First, I want to acknowledge all the hard work you've done. I get the sense reading this report that you have been vigorously extending yourself to try to draw your audience in... and I also hear that it has been a tough crowd. It sounds like you encountered a lot of objections! I can imagine that can be discouraging at times, but I really applaud you for how much work you are doing to come up with creative solutions to the various obstacles you named. For example, it's a great idea to encourage people to work in a medium they are comfortable with, like Word, and then have them transfer their work over. In the end, people who question, who ask 'why' and challenge the answers, who demand reliable sources--these are the folks who make great Wikipedians! So, let's hope that some of the seeds you have been planting will sprout.
Given that you didn't need funds for the purpose you expected (how lovely that your community is so generous about bringing and sharing food!), let's check in when we meet on Friday about how to handle your budget.
