Was läuft denn hier total daneben ???

Please help translate to your language:
@Oliv0: My apologies-- I've begun to make changes to the French translations of pages and templates due to the association here. I can't change the name of the campaign in English, but I've made changes to the following pages in French from Inspire to Inspirer:
As for obtaining professional translators, we have done so in the past, but there are other issues related to obtaining professional translations, such as particular terminology specific to Wikimedia projects that can feel out of place. I also wonder whether we would run into the same issue regarding translations that carry undesireable connotations such as this one. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 07:43, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! (I wouldn't have found them all) Oliv0 (talk) 08:02, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Wrong grammar

"Aderete una Squadra" and "giorni rimastanno" are wrong. They have to be translated as "Unisciti ad una Squadra" and "giorni rimasti". --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 03:39, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Done [1] [2] - it was Grants:IdeaLab/Content/it, this should be made more easy to find. Oliv0 (talk) 08:26, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Project topic appears wrong

I created a project with a name that doesn't really relate to my project. Silly, I know. I moved the project to a new page and changed the project title, however the change is still not seen on Inspire homepage. The old title still remain on Inspire's recent activity. I did all I can and tried every known means to correct the error but nothing seems to help. Reason why I am trying to correct this error is, like I said, the title and project mismatch and with the old title, no one will endorse/join, hence my project is meaningless. The old page here redirects to the new page, but on the homepage, the new title don't appear yet. - KakhoSimpson (talk) 17:15, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

@KakhoSimpson: Hey there, thanks for letting me know. It looks like you wanted to the title to be Prompt and Quick Response to Reporting-- it may have taken a little time to update, but that is exactly the title I see listed on the Inspire Campaign landing page. Let me know if you run into any other trouble. Thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 21:14, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Idea not appearing

Is there some reason my Idea is not appearing in the "roll stream" of Ideas on this page, nor among the leaders on this page? I suspect that I JethroBT (WMF) might respond that it's because I advanced the Idea to "Rapid Grant" status, which also had the effect of removing the "Join" button (though Jethro fixed that), and removing the photo image from the sidebar. I think if the Rapid Grant process decommissions so many of the features of the "plain old" Idea template, submitters should not be encouraged to upgrade to a Rapid Grant, lest they be put at a disadvantage against the other Ideas. - Thekohser (talk) 12:54, 6 June 2016 (UTC)

@Thekohser: Agreed-- I think it makes a great deal of sense to keep those ideas in the list here even after they are turned into grant proposals. As I recall from previous Inspire campaigns, ideas that were migrated into grant proposals were still retained in the idea list here on the landing page. While I look into automating this process, I believe the way to maintain them in the Inspire list is to add Category:IdeaLab/Ideas/Inspire/Addressing harassment to the appropriate page. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 21:22, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
I tried your suggestion, and it didn't work immediately. So, I started adding some more categories. Lo and behold, it seems to be working now -- my Idea is now ranked as the 7th-most endorsed idea out of many dozens. Not sure if it was one of the additional categories that I added, or whether it was just that "your" category needed time to populate the list pages. But, thanks! - Thekohser (talk) 16:03, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
@Thekohser: It's a bot issue, I think. The list gets populated every hour, so it may not have been the additional categories, but just that the bot needed to update the template corresponding to the list. I'd have the bot update more often, but I think there is a capacity issue that prevents it from updating instantly. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 16:39, 8 June 2016 (UTC)

@Thekohser: Hi Gregory-- I was able to find some time while at Wikimania to take care of the image issue with proboxes— Rapid Grants now have the image field and displays an image in the same way that IdeaLab pages do. Again, thanks for pointing it out. I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 09:08, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

Wiki space is so impersonal

I believe that an opt-in instant-messaging functionality (with buttons to ignore a request to instant message, or to ignore all requests from particular editors, of course) would be well worth trying as a contribution to minimising harrassment, stalking, and other bad behaviours that make wikis unwelcoming places for women. Nothing else seems to make a difference, does it.

One-to-one real-time private messaging would provide a mode with three things talkpages lack (for good reasons) that have ended up producing a relatively impersonal environment, in which people are like drivers in road traffic: treated as machines, not people.

I see this as not only an option for editors to establish good working relationships if they wished, but for admins to try to get to the heart of disputes and bad behaviour by using a more immediate, personal channel for negotiation with single parties—one that would make it easier to acknowledge the other person in a more realistic conversational mode, even if by text and behind the screen of usernames.

I'd like to see an application for funding to develop, trial, and evaluate such a system on one wiki.

Any takers? Tony (talk) 05:57, 1 June 2016 (UTC)

So you're arguing for the removal of the email function—might possibly lead to social interaction? The proposal is for one-to-one IM mode for specific purposes, not for a means for group socialising. Tony (talk) 04:28, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
Hey Tony1, thanks for sharing this idea on a new messaging system. I think it's certainly plausible that a more instantaneous and private kind of communication could have a lot of benefits as you've said-- particularly for working on article content together and for intervening in cases of problematic/disruptive behavior. Would you like to add that idea during this campaign? I think you'll get a more feedback and folks who might want to help that way than on the talk page here. [My attempt at google translate into English, with apologies if I got anything wrong: "Harassers must be made aware that one day they might be in the same position as their current victim. ... We must enact sanctions against harassers, criminalise harassment, and create awareness among the victims of harassment that they can confront their harassers: a world free of harassment is a world of peace and Khellouk good manners."
