From where was this list copied?[edit]

@I JethroBT (WMF): From where did you copy this list, when you created the grants page?

I'm asking, since we on the svwikibooks project decided to change the recipient page for central messages from "Bybrunnen" to "Rundskrivelser", and implemented that decision on August 15, as far as we could. In other words, that day we changed the svwikibooks links on the three mediawiki delivery lists we found had been used flately for messages to "Bybrunnen". Three days later, you seemingly copied a list we had not changed to this grants page. That is quite OK; we expected a few misplaced messages to come for a while; we moved the message and changed the list on this page.

However, if possible, we'd also like to change whatever source list you used.

Thanks in advance, JoergenB (talk) 15:33, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@JoergenB: Hey Jörgen, thanks for alerting me and for moving the messages to the appropriate place. I received this list from PEarley (WMF), which can be found here. I've gone ahead and updated the link for sv.wikibooks on that list, but if there are other fixes needed, please feel free to make those changes. @I JethroBT (WMF): Thank you for the answer, and the prompt action!
This indeed answers any questions I could have on behalf of the sv.wikibooks. However, if you permit a humble remark, I notice that the sandbox page you copied gets updated fairly seldom. Your edit now was the first one in 2015, while e. g. what I suppose is "the main global message list" was updated 27 times this year, as you can see here. (Thus, there may be participants on over twenty projects muttering about a change done this year not working. Of course, you may have had good reasons to prefer to copy the sandbox list; it may have some known and appreciated differences, as compared with the Distribution list/Global message delivery; but copying older lists also carries a cost, I think.) @JoergenB: Agreed that the main global message might be better to use in the future. The main reasons I used the existing list was that it had been used for messages about WMF grants earlier this year, and it was recommended to me. In addition to being more updated, it looks like the Global message delivery list mostly contains everything the the copied list has, and then some, so I'll likely stick to using that. Thanks again for the advice! I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:35, 19 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
