Report accepted[edit]

Hi @VladislavNedelev, Лорд Бъмбъри, and Spiritia: Thank you for this incredibly detailed and informative grant report! We really appreciate the time and effort you put not only into organizing a successful WLE, but also documenting the activities and results so well. It's wonderful when we receive reports like these that we can share with others throughout the movement. We have a few comments below.

  1. It's interesting to hear how your jury has developed from last year and how the addition of non-Wikimedian, content experts helped broaden your network and reach.
  2. We're happy to hear that having a grant made the team even more effective and resourceful.
  3. The situation with the two fake photos sounds challenging and frustrating, but it seems it was handled with care and there was some good learning in the process.
  4. Working as a team under pressure on a project as large as WLE can be challenging. It's great to hear that most of the time things went smoothly. Yes, finding that balance between shared decision-making and trusting your co-organizers to be able to make decisions independently under pressure is difficult but necessary. The longer you work together and the close the relationships become, the easier it will be. Hopefully others realize this as well.
  5. The WLE postage stamp is really amazing!
  6. We love Wozzy!!

Thank you again for a great report! Cheers, Alex Wang (WMF) (talk) 00:32, 21 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Alex. From my point of view the addition of non-Wikimedian, content experts enabled us to reach larger audiences. One of the jury members was the editor in chief of a science magazine and printed three large articles about the contest, another was part of a geography portal and allowed us to have a lecture in front of his students, we could get mentions from social media accounts, etc. --Nikola (talk) 15:06, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
