Grants talk:PEG/WM RS/GLAM Start Up

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Hi, Thanks for your grant application. Could you please expand your "Fit to Strategy"? You could perhaps include details such as Quality(contribution of high-quality content to Commons or Wikisource?) and Participation (increased usership of WikiSource?) and Organisational Maturity (WMRS forming more partnerships?), etc. Abbasjnr (talk) 19:52, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, Abbasjnr. At this moment we know for sure that we will improve the content on Wikipedia and Commons. Depending on negotiations, in the coming months, we will know details about Wikisource and other WM projects. I will expand Fit to strategy, right now. --MikyM (talk) 20:20, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Who is going to participate in the project from Wikimedia side? I mean - how many wikipedians you expect to join the project? Do you have any team already established? Do you have any person to be a WiR or you want to make public recruitment for this possition? What does it mean cost of "QRcodes" ? Are you about to print them and them put on museums (?) item plates, or you want to make the new plates, and if so, how many? Polimerek (talk) 13:45, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is a GLAM tema. We have several people who are, more or less, involved in all projects. We expect to expand the team with "new volunteers". About Wikipedians, for now there are five interested persons, but we expect more in the time when projects will start. Please note, sr.wikipedia community is not so big, in generally. For WiR possition, I prefer public recruitmen. About, QRcodes, negotiations are in progress, and all details, (how many, and what we will doing) will be known soon. Both options are possible, but I think, that in one institution we will put new plates. If, you need more details, please give me some e-mail address where I can send not public information to GAC. To make clear to others who read this, I can not talk about the details of some projects because we are still in negotiation with institutions and other partners. But, in the reporst(s) you will have all. --MikyM (talk) 14:21, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mile, you can e-mail information to me and I will relay it privately to the GAC. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 16:20, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Asaf. I will do that right now. --MikyM (talk) 16:34, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After reading private information and the explanation here - I am happy with the proposal and support the submission. Polimerek (talk) 21:09, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Polimerek, for your questions and your support!--MikyM (talk) 21:15, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the submission Mile. The GLAM program fits good and includes some very interesting projects with amounts that are not too expensive. My only concern is the number of people that will be working on these activities, which seems to be compensated with the year-long time for the whole program. So, do you plan to include people outside the Serbian community to work on this program? Best regards.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 09:08, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kiril. Yes, there is the plan to involve people from GLAM institutions, to participate in the work. Also, as you know, WM RS has the Capacity building projects, that should help in bringing new people in all our projects. --MikyM (talk) 12:43, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the quick response. It's worth hearing that specialists from these institutions will take part in the projects that clearly creates a strong plus in the quality of the performance management.--Kiril Simeonovski (talk) 14:59, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your question. It's my pleasure to give the answers to all of you. --MikyM (talk) 15:46, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Victoria. It's funded since yesterday.--MikyM (talk) 13:05, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The reallocation of USD 1607.49 from Open Wiki GLAM of Serbia and Small Wikipedia Primer to GLAM Start up is approved by WMF. See, Grants_talk:WM_RS/Open_Wiki_GLAM_of_Serbia/Report#Addition_about_The_Small_Wikimedia_Primer. -Wolliff (talk) 22:30, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, remember that the reporting for Small Wikipedia Primer should be published with the GLAM Start up report! Wolliff (talk) 22:40, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request an extension[edit]

Dear, as we talked about GLAM in Serbia, we would like to ask for an extension. There have been some changes in Serbia that have had an impact on several GLAMs, which has caused delays in some of the projects. We suggest extension of the deadline or its concurrence with our Annual plan 2012. --MikyM (talk) 14:40, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Extension of this grant to December 2013 is approved. You are, of course, free to conclude and report on this grant sooner. Asaf Bartov (WMF Grants) talk 00:35, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! --MikyM (talk) 00:36, 24 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
