-Feedback regarding your application-

[edit]

Dear Wikimedia Communities in Tanzania:

- Jenga Wikipedia ya Kiswahili

- Wikimedians of Arusha

- Wikimedia Community Kilimanjaro

-Wikimedia Community User Group Tanzania

-Tanzanian University Students Wikimedians

Thank you very much to each one of you for submitting its application. We greatly appreciate the time and interest each group has put into developing its own proposal. The WMF Community Resources team, the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Funds Committee has convened to review carefully each one of the 5 applications submitted and we have the following points for feedback before reaching a final decision:

The Committee would first like to acknowledge the  efforts made by Tanzanian University Students Wikimedians, Wikimedia Community Kilimanjaro, Wikimedians of Arusha, Jenga Wikipedia ya Kiswahili and Wikimedia Community User Group Tanzania for signing a joint agreement aimed at boosting partnership and collaboration between them to minimize duplication of efforts and further enhance the visibility and impact of their work in Tanzania.  We also commend your efforts aimed at promoting the use of Wikimedia projects to people in Tanzania, helping people in Tanzania learn how to contribute to Wikimedia projects, expanding the SwahiliWiki in terms of its contents

Upon reviewing your application, we would like to bring your attention to a number of points:

  • The Committee invites the 5 applicants to organize in blocks - either by language, by thematic or by affinity in order to submit two separate proposals.
  • The committee acknowledges how big Tanzania is, and because of its size, the country has two user groups that are recognized by the WMF. These are the motivations that made them decide on two proposals that can be submitted under the umbrella of the two recognized affiliates.
  • The committee is confident that merging the 5 applications into two big proposals will make them work together, enhance collaboration and partnerships, while reducing duplication of efforts and initiatives.

Thank you very much, and please feel free to share your feedback in this discussion page by Wednesday, May 14 at 12 PM UTC.

Wishing you the best of luck.
