Feedback from the Committee Support team

[edit]

Hello,

I am sharing the following review of your report from the Committee Support team side, on behalf of the Affiliations Committee:

  • Criteria 2.2 Diversity balance (especially gender) [Q3, Q6]: There is no data shared on the breakdown of the membership or leadership.
  • Criteria 3.3 Universal Code of Conduct compliance [Q14]: Nothing was shared about UCoC.
  • Criteria 4.2 Community connection [Q3, Q5]: There is no documentation about how you connect with the local Wikipedia projects in Austria.

Please make sure to address the following observations in your improvement to the report.

Hi @RamzyM (WMF)
I am a bit irritated by this new process to be honest. We already discussed the report with our grant officer and the process is finished. So we will not "improve" the report, unless our grant officer asks us to do so. But I'm häppy to leave some clarification regarding these "observations":
  • Criteria 2.2: Our leadership is described on WMAT's Meta page, hence we do not report on this in all our reports. It would be redundant information. We have a 50:50 board, half male, half female. The ED is female. We do not ask our members for sensitive private information and data such as sex, religion or sexual orientation - as it is good practice in the Wikimedia Movement. Hence, we do not have those numbers for the composition of the membership. In our metrics, which can be found in the report, you can see that we have over 30% female organizers in the organisation.
  • Criteria 3.3: UCoC - I'm not sure what's expected here? We signed a grant agreement that binds us to respect the UCoC and we do. We helped translate it for DE:WP and we revisited all our exisiting friendly space policies to align them. Do we need to put that sentence in every report from now on? Isn't that a bit performative? I think our signature should be enough.
  • Criteria 4.2: We mention that several times in our reports and links. We conduct community surveys, we host events and wiki meets, we have expert groups with community members consulting us in our work etc.

Dear Claudia,
Thank you for responding to the AffCom's questions. The new process allows General Support Fund recipients to submit one report instead of two (GSF final report and Affiliate Report). The same report is reviewed now by both the Grants Officers and the AffCom in Fluxx, the latter with regards to the new Affiliate Health Criteria.
Thank you for your patience, and being so kind as to provide links or documentation in the Fluxx report that answers to the criteria the Affiliation Committee needs more information about.
As this is the first time that the this joint revision of the report is carried out, we thank you for your feedback that it is causing some frustration. We will make improvements in the reporting form based on this year's experiences with respect to the expected documentation for AffCom in the report.
With kind regards, Agnes ABruszik-WMF (talk) 12:33, 16 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
