Add topicFeedback from AffCom
[edit]Hello,
Thank you for submitting your report. As you may be aware, in light of the implementation of Wikimedia Foundation Affiliates Strategy, General Support Fund recipients are currently expected to submit one report instead of two (GSF final report and Affiliate report) to fulfill their reporting obligation as a recognized Wikimedia movement affiliate. The report is reviewed by both the Community Resources program officers and the Affiliations Committee (AffCom), the latter with regards to the new Affiliate Health Criteria.
I am sharing the following review of your report from the Committee Support team side, on behalf of AffCom:
- Criteria 2.3 Good governance & communication [Q14]: The report does not include detailed links or disclosures regarding governance, leadership elections, or decision-making.
- Criteria 3.3 Universal Code of Conduct compliance [Q14]: There is no direct mention of UCoC training or enforcement activities.
Please make sure to update your report on Fluxx within 14 (fourteen) days from this message.
Best,

- Dear @RamzyM (WMF),
- Thank you for the valuable feedback.
- Please find the response below, which has been submitted in the same way to the note of Fluxx in Chinese.
- Regarding Criteria 2.3, in the first year, WAMUG only had one staff member and had not yet established its own Steering Committee. Decisions were made and reviewed by board members of the Asia-Pacific Open Knowledge Association (the legal entity on behalf of Wikipedia Asian Month User Group located in Taiwan), including decisions on financial audits, administrative actions, such as opening a bank account, conducting employee interviews, etc. Regarding ambassador recruitment, since the number of applicants matched the number of spots available, the board members assisted in the qualification review process. In the final month of the first year, WAMUG established a selection committee to choose the members of the Steering Committee (StC). Currently, WAMUG has formed a StC, which discusses and makes decisions through regular meetings.
- Regarding section 3.3, may I clarify whether this refers to the expectation that each affiliate should conduct separate training or workshops specifically for the UCoC? Also, where can the most comprehensive learning materials and training resources be found? Learn.wiki doesn’t seem to have relevant information. In our original proposal, we did not specifically plan training for the UCoC. However, when we train ambassadors, although we do not have separate sessions on the UCoC, we do clearly explain to ambassadors the importance of supporting new contributors, encouraging participation, expressing gratitude for contributions, respecting one another, and adhering to the spirit of Wiki. Moving forward, we will reiterate these principles in our meetings.
- Sincerely,
- Betty2407 (talk) 15:57, 17 September 2025 (UTC)
