Follow-up questions on your application

[edit]

Hello @海獺,

Thank you for your application. Your application is being reviewed by the ESEAP Regional Funds Committee and Programme Officer. We have a question and a comment for you.

Thank you for taking a moment to respond.

Regards, Jacqueline

-- 1) As you have extensive experience as an editor, movement organiser and are deeply connected within the movement, are there plans to transfer the knowledge to others within the community as part of nurturing the next generation of movement organisers? While you may not be able to apply the idea to this project, if there is an opportunity and there is interest, would you consider exploring 1-2 ideas in your next project?

2) Related to question 21 (budget), the upper limit for rapid fund grant is USD 5,000 (or the equivalent in JPY). This means that if your project is funded, we will fund up to USD 5,000. JChen (WMF) (talk) 08:53, 25 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello Jacqueline,
Thank you for reviewing my application. I have recorded my responses below.
Regards, 海獺
1)I have spoken about Wikipedia at various events, with the number of such occasions exceeding 200. Through this experience, I believe I have gained a certain level of expertise and know-how in conveying information effectively.
Apart from the project I am currently applying for, if there is an opportunity for Wikipedians who are interested in similar activities to learn about my approach and the tools I use to communicate, I would be happy to share my insights. However, my methods are very much tailored to Japan and the Japanese language. While the content I present is global and diverse, my way of conveying it may not be easily understood by non-Japanese speakers.
If this concern can be addressed, and if there is demand for it, I believe it would be worthwhile to hold an event to share this with the "next generation of movement organizers."
2)I understand that the exchange rate between the dollar and yen may cause the amount to exceed USD 5,000. As before, I plan to manage expenses carefully and make efforts to minimize spending as much as possible. 海獺 (Racco) (talk) 23:26, 25 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

Updates - non grant funded event

[edit]

Hello @海獺,

Hope you are well. Thanks for sharing this development. Congratulations on your efforts.

  • On July 26th we held an event titled “Let’s Make Wikipedia Articles Using the Full Resources of the Library!” at Adachi Ward Central Library (Manabi Pia 21) in Tokyo. It was part of the 400th anniversary commemorations of Senju-juku, established in 1625.

Congratulations that your contributions and efforts are being acknowledged by the local government, and that the town’s history was documented by local people using materials from their own library.
