Add topicFeedback regarding your rapid grant application
[edit]Dear Mounir Neddi,
Thank you very much for applying for a rapid grant to increase and support oral knowledge and content across Arabic Wikimedia projects. After a thorough review of your proposal, the WMF Community Resources team has a couple of follow up questions and points before reaching a final decision:
- Role of the Reading Network. May you please elaborate on how the Reading Network in Morocco will support this project? Understanding their role would help clarify how this partnership will contribute to the project’s success.
- Strategies for Selecting Public Domain Books. One critical aspect of this project's success is determining which Moroccan books have entered the public domain. Could you share the strategies or methodologies the team will use to identify these works?
- Breakdown of administrative fees. Thank you very much for sharing the team roles and responsibilities in your proposal. May you share exactly who will be volunteers and who will be paid roles and make this clear within your budget, breaking the paid contributions by individual and not by task?
- Internet costs. We noticed that there are several organizers for this projects who are also organizers for other rapid grant applications. If both projects are approved, may you confirm that costs such as internet will not overlap with other projects, such as the Wiki Loves Africa contest?
May you please review the above recommendations and adjust your budget and proposal accordingly? Thank you very much and wishing you a wonderful start to the 2025.

- Dear @FElgueretly-WMF,
- thank you for diligently following up on this application and ensuring its success.
- Role of the Reading Network
- Leveraging the association's expertise in the fields of reading, literature and culture, which will assist us in selecting and gaining access to the books we will work on. Additionally, the Reading Network in Morocco will help attract participants to the project from among its members—individuals with substantial experience in reading and culture—thereby ensuring the project's success.
- Strategies for Selecting Public Domain Books
- The "Reading Network in Morocco" will assist in selecting high-quality, impactful books that can be widely utilized in Wikipedia projects. These books will focus on history and consist of works published over 70 years ago, placing them in the public domain under Moroccan law.
- Breakdown of administrative fees
- The project will have three organizers: Mounir and Nanour, who will be paid for their work, and Nada, whose role will be voluntary. This distinction will be clearly outlined in the budget table (Mounir and Nanour). For Nada, her role will be assisting with the smooth execution of project activities. Responsibilities include managing logistical arrangements for workshops, helping participants with technical issues, and ensuring resources are available during training sessions.
- Internet costs
- While there is a slight overlap in the timelines of the "Digitizing and Voicing Knowledge" project and the "Wiki Loves Africa" project, the two projects will primarily take place during different periods.
- Digitization and Communication of Knowledge Project: February 7, 2025, to April 30, 2025
- Wiki Loves Africa project: February 15, 2025 to May 31, 2025
