Feedback on rapid grant application

[edit]

Dear Arash.pt,

Thank you very much for applying for a rapid grant to support and strengthen collaboration across the Iranian Wikimedia community. We clearly see the activities in your proposal reflecting the outcomes from the meetup held in 2024. After a thorough review of your proposal, the WMF Community Resources team has a couple of follow up questions and points before reaching a final decision:

  • The project demonstrates sufficient team capacity to implement the planned activities over the 3-month period with clear and reasonable metrics for participation (160 participants and 80 editors) and that align with the scale of the proposed activities.
  • Team roles. You list in detail the team members who will be participating in this project, however may you please list their exact roles and how they will be contributing to the project?
  • Missing metrics. May you share how you plan on documenting the progress for Wiki Loves Folklore competition? You state that the metrics are 1,200 Wikipedia contributions but given that the Wiki Loves Folklore competition is a photography contest, you seem to be missing the metrics for Wikimedia Commons.
  • Budget considerations. We advise to amend the coordinator fee as it is high relative to the scope of the project. We suggest reducing it to $500 to maintain alignment with typical rapid grant allocations.
  • Prize allocation within budget. Retaining the $450 prize allocation for the Armenia-Iran competition is reasonable, but the flights and accommodation for 1st and 2nd prize winners should be removed to streamline the budget.

May you please review the above recommendations and adjust your budget and proposal accordingly? Thank you very much and wishing you a wonderful start to the 2025.

@FElgueretly-WMF
Thank you very much for your thorough review of our rapid grant proposal. We appreciate your constructive feedback and are happy to provide the clarifications and adjustments you requested.
  • Team roles. We updated the detailed team roles on Fluxx as requested.
  • Missing metrics. It was a mistake, we add the Wikimedia Commons metic on Fluxx as requested.
  • Budget considerations. Done.
  • Prize allocation within budget. We kindly request to keep this allocation unchanged, as these prizes have already been announced to the community. Promoting cultural exchange between the two communities is a key objective of this collaboration, and Wikimedia Armenia has also committed to sending their top two winners to Iran as part of this initiative.
