Focusing on Women in Arts and Feminism is an inspiring and vital project that highlights the often overlooked contributions of women in the art world while exploring the powerful intersection of art and feminist thought. This initiative not only elevates the voices and stories of female artists but also fosters a deeper understanding of the struggles, triumphs, and innovations women have brought to the creative landscape. By addressing issues of representation, gender equity, and artistic freedom, the project serves as a platform for meaningful dialogue, empowering women and igniting change within the broader cultural narrative.A Salisu (talk) 16:03, 3 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Rapid Fund Request : Not Funded

[edit]

Thank you for submitting your application. After a thorough review of your proposal, we have made a decision not to fund your proposal. See the notes speaking to the rationale of the decision below;

  • This appears to be a resubmission of a recently declined project with a few adjustments and mostly a title change (https://w.wiki/Bifm). It is important that feedback is shared in previous submissions is incorporated into future applications in a substantive manner.
  • The applicant also has two similar proposals to the Wikimedia Nigeria grant process, including one which is still open (https://w.wiki/BNeZ, https://w.wiki/Bifp)
  • We also note that a significant portion of the application was AI written without human review for context - therefore making it challenging to understand in full how the strategies indicated will support in solving for the identified challenge. For instance, it is mentioned that ‘ Raising Awareness and Advocacy: The project will also involve outreach activities to raise awareness about the importance of documenting women’s contributions on Wikimedia projects. This includes engaging with educational institutions, cultural organizations, and local communities to highlight the value of this work. We however do not see the mention of the outreach reach activities and the involved organizations.
  • We encourage the group to focus on getting resourcing from the Wikimedia Nigeria grant process to implement smaller-scale projects and also noting that the affiliate can support them in getting the partners they would need.

Thanks!
