I fully support the Hausa Wikipedia Cuisine, Culinary Culture, and More project. This initiative will help document and expand knowledge about Hausa culinary traditions and culture on Wikipedia, An important part of preserving and sharing our heritage. By encouraging community participation and improving Hausa language content, this project promotes cultural understanding, free access to knowledge, and enriches the online resources available to Hausa speakers worldwide. I believe this project aligns with the goals of the Wikimedia movement to increase representation of under documented topics and local knowledge on the internet. I wholeheartedly endorse the 'Hausa Wikipedia Cuisine, Culinary Culture and More' project! This initiative aims to document and promote the rich culinary heritage of the Hausa people, preserving and sharing their traditional cuisine and cultural knowledge with the world. By addressing the lack of adequate information and visibility on Wikimedia projects, this project will provide a valuable resource for Hausa speakers and the global audience alike. The project's approach, which includes gathering and citing traditional recipes, recruiting and training editors, and ensuring accuracy and neutrality, is comprehensive and well-thought-out. I have no doubt that this project will make a significant contribution to promoting Hausa culture and culinary heritage, and I wish the team all the best in their endeavors.

Hello Jidda3711, thanks for submitting your Rapid Fund request. We appreciate your willingness to contribute to the Wikimedia Movement.

We have completed the initial review of your application and we decided to not fund it. We made this decision considering the following reason:

  • The Hausa Wikimedians User Group has a General Support Fund. You are a volunteer member of the group. We recommend that you discuss with the leadership and suggest the group funds this focused heritage/content gap initiative from their larger approved budget for community events, training, and Hausa content improvement as it aligns with their objectives.

On behalf of the Sub-Saharan Africa regional review team. WBuloso-WMF (talk) 07:32, 11 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
