Strong support this project as it seeks to create awareness about Wikimedia projects in a relatively new territory in Nigeria. The low level of awareness and participation of people from Esan West LGA is evident in the low number and poor content relating to Esan West -notable people, and town in Wikimedia project.
Looking at lineup of activities (awareness, recruitment and trainings online and offline sessions) will go a long way in giving the participants a strong footing in contributing to Wikimedia projects coupled with continuous mentorship to provide the much need support and sustainability of the community. The planned collaboration with students union to create fanclubs at institutions in the Èsán West LGA will be helpful in future recruitment and training university undergraduate, academics and professionals into the movement (investing in skills and sustainability of the Wikimedia Movement Strategy 2030). Strong support As a strong advocate for open knowledge and community empowerment, I believe this initiative holds great promise for the people of Esan West.
By engaging the people Esan West, we can enhance local content creation, preserve indigenous knowledge, and promote Esan West's cultural heritage on a global platform. This will not only increase visibility for the community but also encourage digital literacy and participation in the global knowledge ecosystem. Meritkosy (talk) 13:41, 9 May 2025 (UTC)

[edit]If every Wikipedia should be read in every language, efforts towards realizing that dream must be made. This seems like one of them. I
Strong support the project. Kambai Akau (talk) 13:05, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

Strong support With the obvious lack of Wikimedia awareness and training in Esan West LGA, having this training will go a long way in creating the needed awareness and training to people - students, youths and indigenous people - to contribute to Wikimedia projects. Not funded
[edit]Hello Hackesan, thanks for submitting your Rapid Fund request. We appreciate your willingness to contribute to the Wikimedia Movement.
We have completed the initial review of your application and we decided to not fund it. We made this decision considering the following reason:
- Does not demonstrate clear goals, objectives, and impact aligned with the requested budget and activities and user contributions on Wiki projects are quite few.
