AIMS OF THE PROJECT

The Nigeria Cultural Heritage aims to preserve and promote the digital representation of Nigeria's rich cultural heritage by documenting the material and non-material culture of the three major tribes—Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba—on Wikimedia platforms, ensuring the continuity of these traditions for future generations and strengthening African history through accessible and accurate digital resources. PROJECT GOALS AND IMPACTS

Through the documentation of Nigeria's rich cultural heritage, the project aims to prevent cultural loss through the digitalization of Nigeria Cultural Heritage this will eventually enhance global understanding of Nigeria’s cultural identity. By collaborating with cultural institutions, historians, and local communities, it fosters authenticity while training individuals on how to document and share cultural content digitally. The NCHP aims to increase the representation of Nigerian traditions online, educate diverse audiences, and position Nigeria as a leader in preserving African cultural heritage in the digital age.
