 Support My overall impression is that this project is not just very well organized; it has a deep strategic understanding of what is needed to build a stronger Wikimedia Movement in Brazil, focusing on a great experience during the event that provides a sense of community and addressing the need of sustainable outcomes. Bringing global south scientists to the Wikimedia Movement is a key initiative to achieve knowledge equity in a long term, and the strategy of working with both Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons is great for tackling the risk of low retention after the event, since working with two different contribution modalities lowers the chance of friction-induced frustration during the first edits. This approach also helps framing the Wikimedia platforms as an environment where scientists can find diverse, fun, and impactful ways of sharing their knowledge with the world. The focus on documentation and building organizational capacity is also extremely important, since the participants will go back to their institutions with the knowledge and the mentors needed to keep working on our platforms.
