--Astari28 (talk) 09:14, 3 July 2025 (UTC) Astari28 (talk) 09:14, 3 July 2025 (UTC) SheSaid 2025 in Indonesia is a vital step toward increasing the representation of Indonesian women through quotes and images on Wikiquote and Wikimedia Commons. I fully support this initiative for its commitment to creating safe learning spaces, empowering women with digital skills, and amplifying their voices in the open knowledge ecosystem.
Endorsement from MondBriller (talk)
[edit]I fully support SheSaid 2025 in Indonesia as it marks the first time this important initiative is being carried out in the country. I believe this project has strong potential to significantly increase the contributions of women to Wikiquote Indonesia, both in Indonesian and in local languages. By highlighting quotes by and about Indonesian women, while also building a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for learning and editing, this initiative can play a key role in strengthening the presence and voices of women across Wikimedia projects.

I wish I could comment on the full proposal, but sorry, I can not read the language... :( It looks quite detailed... I am very glad to see the project ported in Indonesia !!!
My only comment would be to note that it feels the output (number of Wikiquote entries) seems a bit light compared to the prospective number of participants and the global budget.

| Review questions | Collated responses |
| 1) Is the proposal clear in terms of the change it wants to make? Does the proposal indicate value/impact potential? Is the proposal viable? | YES
Explanation 1a) Yes, the applicant mentioned plans to help expand the influence of the Wikimedia movement among the Indonesian women's community. 1b) The first SheSaid event in Indonesia was scheduled in 2024 and focused on Banjar Wikiquote. This proposal opens up the opportunity for the event to be organized on a nationwide scale. It also addresses the issue of gender inequality, which remains prevalent in Indonesia. |
| 2) Does the applicant have the experience (technical / organizing) capacity to implement this project? Does the applicant or team have experience on target Wikimedia projects? | YES
Explanation The applicants have some experience in the Wikimedia movement, but it does not appear to be long. However, according to further context from Wikimedia Indonesia, it seems they do have the ability and experience to carry out similar projects. |
| 3) Does this proposal have support from Wikimedia community members? Has there been sufficient engagement of community members through the endorsement and feedback process? | YES |
| 4) Does the proposed budget adequately reflect the investment needed to achieve the proposed goals? | YES
Explanation The proposed budget is reasonable and in line with standards set by Wikimedia Indonesia |
| 5) Does the applicant show clarity in what they hope to learn from their work given the change they are hoping to achieve? | YES
Explanation 5a) Yes, it is clear based on the information provided in the application 5b) The scale of the project does not seem to match the proposed metrics. The project covers training in various cities and an edit-a-thon, which can attract more newcomers and active contributors. However, the metrics of content contribution to Wikimedia projects are relatively low. 5c) On whether the proposed content contribution could have some positive effects on predicted readerships and connections between articles. For example: With a focus on enhancing women's representation and visibility on Wikiquote. The Wikiquote itself is a relatively uncommon project in the Indonesian community. We hope the project can introduce Wikiquote to Indonesian contributors. |
| 6) Questions or feedback to the applicant based on your review | We need a response to these questions
6a) Please see comment labelled (5b). We will be returning the proposal to you on Fluxx. Please make the adjustments to the metrics and summarise the changes that you have made here. 6b) Please see comment labelled (1b). Please make sure to share your planning and training materials in your final report so that others can learn from this project. Do also consider publishing a Diff post on your project and include the link in your final report. 6c) Other communities that have completed similar projects. - Dear @JChen (WMF) and ESEAP Regional Funds Committee,
- Thank you for sharing the review and feedback on our proposal. We truly appreciate the thorough assessment and constructive comments provided by the committee.
- We kindly request an extension to submit our responses for Section 6, moving the deadline from 10 August 2025 to 14 August 2025. We would like to have additional time to discuss the feedback, especially the metrics adjustment, in more detail with our team to ensure our responses are complete and well-considered.
- We believe this short extension will help us provide more comprehensive and thoughtful updates in line with the committee’s suggestions.
- Thank you for your kind understanding and consideration. We look forward to submitting our updated response by the revised date.
- Warm regards,
- Salsa66syifa

- Hello @Salsa66syifa,
- Thank you for your interim response.
- Your proposed timeline for 14 August works.
- We will circle back on your talkpage responses then.
- Regards,
- Jacqueline JChen (WMF) (talk) 01:19, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
- Dear @JChen (WMF) and ESEAP Regional Funds Committee,
- (6a) Metrics Alignment (updated to match a national-scale project)
- We have adjusted our metrics to reflect the project’s national scope (online academy, workshops in seven cities, national challenge). The updated minimum targets are:
- a. Participants: 127
- b. Editors: 100
- c. Organizers: 29
- d. Wikiquote (ID): 350 pages/entries created or improved
- e. Wikimedia Commons: 60 images uploaded
- This increase reflects the potential for multi-city participation. As this is our first time implementing the initiative at a national scale, actual participation levels remain difficult to predict. The targets have been set conservatively to account for various possibilities, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and verification in Wikiquote. Progress will be tracked using Campaign Events, the Outreach Dashboard (Generic Course & Editathon), Fountain, and Quarry, and will be analyzed and reported in the final report.
- (6b) Sharing Materials & Diff Post
- All planning and training materials (slides, learning modules, event run-downs, and other supporting resources) will be shared in the final report so they can be reused by other communities. The project page on Meta (SheSaid 2025 in Indonesia, ID: 23479270 In section 7) already includes our commitment to publishing an article on Diff, and the link to that article will be included in the final report.
- (6c) Learning from Other Communities
- We will review final reports and best practices from organizers of similar initiatives (e.g., SheSaid in the Philippines and cross-community coordination in India). Where possible, we will coordinate directly with them to exchange experiences, so that proven strategies can be adapted to the Indonesian context. Salsa66syifa (talk) 00:39, 14 August 2025 (UTC)
