This project is a critical, locally-driven effort that aligns perfectly with the goals of both the central kanuri wikimedians community and the Wiki Loves Africa 2026 theme. It addresses a significant gap in free knowledge by systematically documenting the endangered rites, rituals, and cultural extensions of the Kanuri people and neighboring communities. A very good initiative by the Community to preserve traditional rites and rituals,we will do our best to get the best captions on the campaign with full support.

Not Funded

[edit]

Hello Mustybdc, thank you for submitting your Rapid Fund request. We appreciate your commitment to contributing to the Wikimedia Movement.

After reviewing your application, we have decided not to fund it. This decision was made based on the following reason:

  • The proposal lacks details on planned activities, methodology, timeline, and specific outputs.

@WBuloso-WMF Well thanks for reviewing, I think we don't lack any of the mentioned activities compared to the funded grants, maybe something else thank you. MohammedBama123 (talk) 10:02, 12 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
@WBuloso-WMF Thank you for reviewing our application. I have a concern regarding the recent results I noticed that many individual proposals were approved while most of those submitted under community languages were rejected. Does this mean that individual applications are currently preferred over community-based ones? We would appreciate some clarification on this issue. Thank you.
