[edit]Hello, dear Gilbert Ndihokubwayo! Thanks for your proposals for the Wiki Loves Earth 2025 in Burundi.
I wanted to confirm that Wiki Loves Earth-related Rapid Fund proposals are being formally co-reviewed by both the Community Resources team supported by I JethroBT (WMF) (talk · contribs), and the Wiki Loves Earth Organizing team. Proposal feedback reflects both feedback and discussion from both of these groups. Funding decisions on these proposals are also being finalized in a cooperative manner between the WLE organizing team and the Community Resources team as a part of this process. Speaking more broadly, this collaboration is part of a broader effort to support more localized review and decisionmaking when resourcing major Wikimedia campaigns.
We wanted to inform you that the application functions well and meets general expectations. But before the final decision, we have some points to clarify with you:
- Metrics adjustment. According to last year’s Dashboard data, your actual results significantly exceeded the predicted ones (2,400 images uploaded vs. 450 planned). We recommend adjusting the expected outcomes in this year’s plan to better reflect past performance. Additionally, please note that on-wiki contributions were not included in Fluxx; while this is a minor issue, it would be good to ensure all contributions are represented.
- Fluxx metrics update. Please add your metrics directly into Fluxx rather than only linking to a dashboard page. This ensures all necessary information is available within the application for review and tracking purposes.
- Budget suggestions. We suggest increasing the prize budget to allow for higher-quality prizes, while reducing transportation and food costs. The number of prizes can remain the same, but allocating more funding per prize could improve participant motivation and recognition.
Looking forward to your reply!

- Dear @OlesiaLukaniuk (WMUA),
- Thank you for your message and comment on the rapid fun proposal, It is good to hear that the Wiki Loves Earth-related Rapid Fund proposals are being formally co-reviewed by both the Community Resources team, to support more localized review and decisionmaking.
- Metrics adjustment: It is well noted and it sounds good to adjust the expected outcomes in this year’s plan to better reflect past performance.
- Fluxx metrics update: Would you please let me know how? It seems from me that I do not have access to edit the proposal into the Fluxx, I think this is doable after having the proposal moved in the Proposals need attention Fluxx section. Do I edit the proposal into the related Link on Meta-Wiki?
- Can you please advise?
- Budget suggestions: Okay, I update the and increase the prize budget to allow for higher-quality prizes and improving participant motivation and recognition.
- Concerning the transportation and food costs, I suggest to keep the proposed prices as there are even becoming more expensive, and the reduction could not help accordingly.
- All the best, Gilbert Ndihokubwayo (talk) 10:42, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
