Hello Ibrahim Achiri, and thanks for your proposal for WLE 2025 in Northern Ghana. I wanted to confirm that Wiki Loves Earth-related Rapid Fund proposals are being formally co-reviewed by both the Community Resources team and the Wiki Loves Earth Organizing team supported by OlesiaLukaniuk (WMUA) (talk · contribs) so proposal feedback reflects both feedback and discussion from both of these groups. Funding decisions on these proposals are also being finalized in a cooperative manner between the WLE organizing team and the Community Resources team as a part of this process. Speaking more broadly, this collaboration is part of a broader effort to support more localized review and decisionmaking when resourcing major Wikimedia campaigns. While we are generally inclined to support the proposal, we are needing some clarity on how the food and beverage was determined in the budget document:

  • What meals or food is this budget covering, and during what events or activities are these needed?
  • What does the 20 refer to in this budget in the budget document? Does this refer to the number of participants/editors covered, or something else?
  • How did you determine the need for 40 USD per unit for this budget?

With thanks, I JethroBT (WMF) (talk) 17:38, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply

The meals included in this budget are breakfast, a snack, lunch, and water for each participant. These will be provided during our photo hunt outreaches to the five selected sites. The 20 specified in the budget refers to the number of participants, and the $40 represents the total cost of meals for each participant across all five outreaches. Therefore, the cost of meals per participant per outreach is $40 divided by 5, equating to $8 per person. Ibrahim Achiri (talk) 22:17, 27 March 2025 (UTC)Reply
