Hello Ayyuha Sideeq, thank you for submitting your Rapid Fund request. We appreciate your commitment to contributing to the Wikimedia Movement.

After reviewing your application, we have decided not to fund it. This decision was made based on the following reason:

  • Although your proposal seems good, we recommend you redirect your application to align with the 2026 Wiki Loves Africa theme, “Rites and Rituals.

Dear WBuloso-WMF, thank you for your thoughtful feedback on my Rapid Fund request. I understand that the main concern was alignment with the 2026 Wiki Loves Africa theme “Rites and Rituals.” I would like to ask for clarification: would a project such as “Wiki Loves Ramadan 2026 in Africa” be considered eligible under this theme? Ramadan contains many cultural and religious rites and rituals that communities in Africa observe and document, which I believe connects closely with the theme. Your guidance will help me decide whether to redirect and adapt my proposal accordingly.Ayyuha Sideeq (talk)

Also, i would like to seek clarification: would a project such as “Wiki Loves Ramadan 2026 in Africa” be considered eligible under this theme? Ramadan encompasses many cultural and religious rites and rituals observed by communities in Africa, which I believe connects closely with the theme. While Wiki Loves Ramadan is an annual contest similar to Wiki Loves Africa, the latter focuses on different themes each year. I believe this project would ensure continuity in documenting the diverse traditions, practices, heritage, and historical figures associated with Ramadan. I urge the committee to reconsider and look into the Wiki Loves Ramadan proposal accordingly.Ayyuha Sideeq (talk)
