The outcome should have not been in this section, unless it is an expected outcome? Not sure what the purpose is of putting these questions and data in  Q17. All that data was not presented in their final report last year. Maybe we can start with. 1) Where do you plan to publish the information of what is being shared in question 17 after the project? And for last year’s project, could you share the data and not just a paragraph on the outcomes observed?
Questions or feedback to the applicant based on your review	Why was Wiktionary removed from the metric, considering it's one of the main activities mentioned in the proposal? For consideration: When discussing a sustainable community, one useful metric to consider is the number of retained editors. One approach to building a sustainable community is to establish a shared goal—for example, developing and improving a language in the Incubator until it is ready to be launched as a new Wikipedia edition. (*For reference: Hatch-A-Wiki project by Wiki Advocates Philippines https://diff.wikimedia.org/2022/08/29/hatch-a-wiki-project-of-the-wiki-advocates-philippines/ ) My comment on Kent Wiki Club's application is that it looks fine to me and looks similar to last year's outreach as this is a continuation. My feedback here is that I would like to know their strategies in handling these 2 big venues.

• Yes, it indicates value and is viable. However, there is a lack of clarity in a few sections, including lesson learned.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. We appreciate the recognition of Wikitour’s value and viability. Regarding the noted lack of clarity in sections such as “Lessons Learned,” we would like to clarify that this has been addressed more clearly under the Learning and Metrics section, specifically in response to Question 5 in this sheet. In that section, we outline what we hope to learn from the project in relation to the change we aim to achieve:

a. From a community perspective, we hope to assess whether active participation in Wikitour 2.0 raises awareness about the importance of preserving native and minority languages, particularly Semai and Iban.

b. From an organizational perspective, as members of the Wikimedia Kent Club, we aim to evaluate how our planning, problem-solving, and teamwork skills improve through implementing Wikimedia initiatives. This will help strengthen our club’s long-term capacity.

c. From an individual perspective we hope to deepen our understanding of Semai and Iban morphology and syntax through translation activities, while also improving our digital literacy and intercultural teaching skills as future language educators.

d. In addition, we have taken steps to ensure transparency and proper documentation of our learning. For the upcoming Wikitour 2.0, we will publish all outcomes and insights on the Wikimedia Kent Meta-Wiki page and our official Instagram account to ensure community access and stakeholder engagement. While we acknowledge that the majority of endorsements currently come from committee members, we have actively reached out to other community members beyond the organising team to gather broader feedback and support.

These outreach efforts are ongoing, and we have documented them on the endorsement section of the WikiTour 2.0 Meta-page. We welcome and encourage further engagement from the wider Wikimedia community, and we are committed to building more inclusive support leading up to the event. 5. Does the applicant show clarity in what they hope to learn from their work given the change they are hoping to achieve?

For Question 17, here are the main things we would like to learn if we achieve the described change.

1. From the community perspective, we aim to learn whether active participation in Wikitour 2.0 increases awareness of the importance of preserving native languages, particularly minority languages such as Semai and Iban. This aligns with the Wikimedia Foundation’s vision of making free and open knowledge accessible in all languages, including indigenous and underrepresented ones.
2. From the organizational perspective, as members of the Wikimedia Kent Club (established in 2022), we seek to develop foundational and programmatic skills such as organizational logistics, problem solving, and teamwork. We intend to evaluate how these skills improve through the planning and execution of Wikimedia initiatives, thereby strengthening the club’s capacity for future projects.
3. At the individual's level, this project provides an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the morphology and syntax of Iban and Semai via translation activities. As Kadazandusun speakers and future language educators, we aim to enhance our linguistic knowledge and intercultural teaching skills. Moreover, this experience will improve our digital literacy and ability to document and preserve minority languages on open platforms such as Wikipedia and Incubator.
4. Building on the success of the 2024 Wikitour (which focused on Wiktionary), Wikitour 2.0 shifts focus to translation efforts within Wikipedia and Incubator. Our goal is to meet or exceed the previous project’s key metrics, thereby reinforcing Wikimedia Kent Club’s role in digitizing indigenous languages and safeguarding Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

Where we plan to publish the information shared in Question 17?

For the upcoming Wikitour 2.0 project, we plan to publicly share the data and insights through the Kelab Wikimedia Kent Metawiki page as well as via our official Instagram account. This will ensure transparency and allow the community and stakeholders to access detailed project outcomes and learnings.

While we fell slightly short of our participant and editor targets, we significantly exceeded expectations for new content creation. The increase in the number of organizers also contributed to improved coordination across workshops.

Dissemination Plan for Wikitour 2.0

Unlike Wikitour 2024, where data was not widely published, Wikitour 2.0 will prioritize transparency and sharing. We plan to publish project results and learning insights on: Kelab Wikimedia Kent Meta-Wiki page, diff and social media platforms, especially Instagram (infographic summaries). 6. Questions or feedback to the applicant based on your review:

• Why was Wiktionary removed from the metric, considering it's one of the main activities mentioned in the proposal?

Wikitionary was removed from the metrics because one of the program plans, which was to go to Brunei where the Wikitionary program was supposed to be conducted in Brunei Malay, was eventually postponed. This happened due to budget problems that were too large to operate three locations. Therefore, the trip to Brunei and the Wikitionary program had to be canceled.

• For consideration: When discussing a sustainable community, one useful metric to consider is the number of retained editors.

We will encourage them to establish specific wiki clubs for their universities, either separately according to their respective languages ​​or forming a union with various branches of the language they are fighting for, this is so that the number of editors can be determined according to the number of members in the club.

We can share with Iban and Semai language Wikipedia writers what will be done once Wikipedia is launched, for example, translating information from the mother tongue states, for example Iban for Sarawak, as we did in 2024 in the 40-day Wikipedia program involving 40 participants among the Kent Wiki club, in addition, we also target 1000 articles in the first Wikipedia, and this has already been achieved before the beginning of 2025, and now we are implementing the 100-day Wikipedia program, which writes about Japanese culture in conjunction with the friendship between Wikimedia Malaysia and Wikimedia Japan, during this time we are also running Wikidoropi which aims to improve the writing of articles on Wikipedia so that its quality as an encyclopedia is maintained, in addition, we also write about the culture of the language speakers, therefore through the partnership related to these programs, both groups also have ideas about the targets that need to be done in the future, of course, we will also target writing articles about Malaysia together, in addition to increasing the number of articles in Wikipedia, editors also contribute results which is patriotic and united.

• My comment on Kent Wiki Club's application is that it looks fine to me and looks similar to last year's outreach as this is a continuation. My feedback here is that I would like to know their strategies in handling these 2 big venues.

The strategy we use to operate both venues is through meetings in every decision we make, especially the number of participants involved and the number of incubator articles to be produced. We also divide the tasks based on our strengths and abilities in carrying out the tasks. We also chose the Wikipedia and Incubator projects because both of these projects can have a big impact on the amount of reading material in the mother tongue in addition to further improving the quality of the articles that have been produced. In addition, for technical implementation such as preparing the space and presentation equipment, we will be assisted by the relevant university or institute, because the implementation of this program has been discussed and agreed upon between both parties. For the first place, which is UPSI Perak, we organized a writing program in the incubator for Bahasa Semai, so that it will later become the official Wikipedia, while for the Kadazandusun and Iban Wikipedias, it is an exposure to writing in Wikipedia, in addition, the target for this program is students who major in those languages. In addition, to carry out the program without taking up to 2-3 days, we conducted a one-day workshop that included a workshop and then a guided editaton, this method can be done because the workshop can be carried out using the official language of the sender, which is Malay. While each facilitator will help and guide the group of participants inclusively. In general, we will collaborate with the universities involved where they play a role in providing the place, gathering participants, and our group will provide workshops and guidance and provide certificates as a sign of having officially undergone the Wikipedia writing course. This proposal will be beneficial not only to the Iban Wikipedia community but also to the community of Kadazandusun Wikipedia and to the speaker of the Semai language. By this project, I believe more of these local indigenous languages native speakers will be exposed to the Wikimedia movement, as well as enabling more people to spread knowledge in this language.
