Request to Reallocate Unused Funds[edit]

We hope to be able to use these funds to help facilitate an editing event at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, which is the largest meeting of mathematicians in the world. We would like to hold a meet-up event. We would need to reserve a room with wifi since there is not free wifi everywhere at this conference.

1. A budget outlining how the remaining funds will be used, including the total amount of remaining funds you will use for your activities.

We have $322.09 of unused funds. We would like to use these to purchase snacks ($25), print promotional cards to advertise the event($40), and pay for a few students' conference registration fees ($78 each, estimate since fees have not yet been announced for 2020). In addition, there may be a fee involved with adding internet access to the room.

2. A brief description of the mission-aligned activities you will do with the funds and an explanation about how these activities are related to the Wikimedia mission.

We will continue to work on creating and improving articles on women in mathematics.

3. Please include a start date and a completion date for your activities. The start date and completion date should each include a day month, and year.

The conference is January 15-18, 2020. We would need a start date of Nov. 15, 2019 (to ensure delivery of promotional items) and close date of February 15, 2020.

In order to do this, we still need to find someone to be there at the this event in Denver, CO. We are hoping to find an experienced editor who is already planning to attend the conference. Emailing are being sent out to know AWM member that are also editors. We hope to have this finalized soon. LittleDart (talk) 18:59, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Report accepted[edit]

Hello, LittleDart; thank you for all your work on this editathon and on the detailed report you submitted. We are glad to see better information on women mathematicians on Wikipedia as a result of your work.

Given that you have now submitted the grant request to support your work at the Joint Mathematics Meeting, I will leave my general comments on that proposal page instead. I am just confirming that I have reviewed and accepted your expense documentation and this final report, and I am approving the reallocation of these funds to the Mathematics Meetings 2020 grant request.

Thank you for all your work for the Wiki movement! Regards, MMontes (WMF) (talk) 12:41, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
