Report accepted[edit]

Hi, Doctor 17, thank you for submitting this final report and expense documentation. I have reviewed and accepted both. We have also received the returned remaining funds, so this grant is complete. Congratulations!

Comments and Questions

  • The event sounds like a successful start to what will hopefully be ongoing efforts. The enthusiasm and engagement of the 11 journalists present, and the desire for more training on the part of BMF and other journalists who didn't get to participate, is exciting to see.
  • It's understandable that it was difficult to create articles in English due to your time constraints. Offering a follow-up session at night or on the weekend that participants can attend voluntarily could be a good way to expand opportunities for them to learn and engage.
  • Do you know if any of the journalists who were trained have continued editing Wikipedia since the training?

Many thanks for all the hard work you put into this grant. We appreciate you sharing what you learned with WMF and the community, and welcome any further updates you'd like to provide.

Many thanks LSmith (WMF). I hope to return in January so will know better then the long term results of the training, though it was only intended as a first step in familiarization. Training the Dzongkha editors in the protocols of English Wikipedia was intended to encourage them to better utilize the Dzongkha edition, which is a much longer term project. I am very grateful for the support and the enthusiasm of WMF and hope to call on you again in future as we proceed. :) Doctor 17 (talk)
