Comments from DSaroyan (WMF)[edit]

Hello @Aishik Rehman, thanks for submitting this Rapid Grant request. We have reviewed the grant application and we are excited about your plans to run the Wiki Loves Women contest in South Asian Wikipedias. The only request that we have is around the prize budget:

  • Main Contest: Total budget for prizes is 1,300 USD. We think that it is high and kindly request to reduce it to 1,000 USD.
  • Sub-contest: Gifts for top contributors can be vouchers or t-shirts, not both. Please select only one of these prizes for top contributors and reduce the budget accordingly.

Once these changes are made, we'll be glad to support your project! Looking forward to hearing from you. Best regards, DSaroyan (WMF) (talk) 08:35, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@DSaroyan (WMF): I have updated the budget. Now take a look. If you require any further information, let me know, Thanks. Hirok

Extension request[edit]

@DSaroyan (WMF) I kindly request to extend the grant's last date till March 31, 2022.--Aishik Rehman (talk) 14:36, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Updated final budget[edit]

I no longer need the money demanded for the Promotion ($60) and Online workshop & training ($50). Since the grant money was not received during the project, these two could not be arranged. Apart from these two, the remaining $1400 is required. But according to Janice, the US$110 that is no longer needed for training and promotion may be reallocated to cover (all or part) of the fiscal sponsor management fee. Overall, there is probably no change in the total budget.

Main contest (Wiki Loves Women South Asia 2021)
  1. Prizes
    1. Globally Top 1st = $250
    2. Globally Top 2nd = $150
    3. Globally Top 3rd = $100
  2. Top 3 contributors from each wikipedia = $450
  3. Letter of Appreciation (Premium designed soft copy) for all valid participants and judges = $100
Sub-total = $1050
Sub-Contest (Wiki Loves Children in Bengali Wikipedia and Wikibooks)
  1. Gift voucher for top 6 contributors = $100
  2. Letter of Appreciation (Printed copy for judges and winners and Premium soft copy for all participants) = $60
  3. T-shirts for judges = $65
  4. Courier and postage = $25
  5. Promotion (including wlwsa) = $60
  6. Online workshop & training = $50
  7. fiscal sponsor management fee = $110 (as per Janice)
  8. Others = $100
Sub-total = $460

Grand Total = $1510 (USD) Aishik Rehman (talk) 14:49, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DSaroyan (WMF) Due to problems with international transactions and banking, we have not been able to complete all the work yet. But hopefully it will be completed at least by May. I am requesting extension till 31st May. -- Aishik Rehman (talk) 11:16, 30 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
